Fake Anti-Virus Alert

It has come to the attention of Datawise Consulting that several deceptive fake antivirus programs are floating around the internet and has made their way onto several user’s PC’s managed by Datawise, despite antivirus programs being installed on the systems.

This is because this fake anti-virus usually prompts the user to download it after presenting a web browser screen of a fake scan, as shown below. This screen will pop up automatically in your browser window.

It should be noted that in at least one instance, permission to download was not given, and the software was still able to install itself.



If your browser opens with a similar screen, please close it immediately, and do not download the fake anti-virus software when requested. At this point, you have likely have not been infected.
